Binfield Dog Rescue has been finding homes for unwanted, abandoned and stray dogs since 1966. We take in dogs from people that can no longer look after them, and unclaimed dogs from council pounds located anywhere in the UK. Many of these are Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dogs and Rottweilers because the rescues local to the pounds will not find homes for this breed of dog. The dogs are kept in our kennels in Billingbear, just outside Binfield village. The dog on the right is looking for a new home . You can see more information about this dog by clicking on its photo. NOTICE: Maidenhead Road, Wokingham is closed 9am-2pm on Sunday 8th February for the Wokingham half marathon. Access to the rescue is via Carters Hill, Binfield. HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS: We are closed for general viewing on Holiday Monday and Tuesday. You can come along to walk a dog between 9am and 3:30pm and HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS: The rescue is open 10am-3pm on Bank Holiday Monday. We are closed for rehoming on 1st January but regular volunteers are welcome to walk a dog between 9am and 12 noon as long as it is not raining. The rescue is open for restricted hours probably 10am-2pm over the holiday period. Note: if we are short of staff you will not be permitted to walk a dog. • DIRECTIONS TO BINFIELD DOG RESCUE Dog Food Donation We have a lot of dogs in at the moment so we are using a lot of tinned dog food. We will take any tinned dog food though we prefer supermarket own brand and Chappie (any recipe). Thank you for helping the dogs. -- DO NOT REQUIRE filled items such as duvets, pillows, cushions etc. We also do not take furniture. We can use towels, sheets and blankets. Thank you . -- WE DO NOT COLLECT MONEY on the street . It has come to our attention that someone is collecting money 'on behalf of Binfield Dog Rescue'. This is not true. It is also fraud and theft. We are not the only dog rescue that these scammers target. If you encounter someone collecting for an animal rescue, find out which rescue they are 'collecting' for. If it is not local to you then it is probably a scam i.e fraud, because the money is income for the person collecting it. If they are on the premises of a supermarket then contact their head office. The chances are they are not permitted to be there. Also contact the local council because they will need a permit to collect money from the public. Thank you everyone who helped Jade A big thank you to all those people that donated towards Jade's surgery, especially Nick Yates whose magnificent fundraising has enabled us to go ahead with Jade's surgery. The vet repaired her eye lids and spayed her. Jade is now in a loving home and with the aid of our Dog Trainer, Kim Potter , she is learning to live in a home. Jade is an ex-breeding Labrador that was brought to Binfield Dog Rescue. She had Entropian where her eyelids are folded inward causing the eyelashes to rub on the surface of the eye causing irriation which means they constantly weep. She has lived with a condition all her life, in continual pain. The breeder was only interested in how much money they could make from her regardless of whether her many pups would also have this condition. With the money raised we were also able to neuter Toby the Great Dane cross, which we hope will make it easier for him to find a home. On behalf of the dogs Thank you! Wanted - Concrete blocks In order to refurbish our kennels we need a number of solid dense concrete blocks 100mm 7.3N or similar standard concrete building blocks (length=440mm, width=100mm, height=215mm). Wanted - Plastic sacks We require large plastic or paper sacks i.e refuse sacks, charity sacks, empty animal food sacks, Etc. Of course, any old dog items that you may no longer require such as beds, bowls, leads, toys, tennis balls, Etc are always welcome since some of dogs destroy these! -- No Squeeky Toys Please Toys that make a noise when you squeeze them can encourage some dogs to be aggressive towards young children because they squeek too.
